When it comes to sex many are the factors that interfere on the quest for mature sexuality rapport. Sexual drive of partners, discrepancies between men and women, inadequate information about the subject, myths, tales and taboos, socio-cultural inequalities, religious values, among others. So, then, what's sexual maturity? How would we know whether such maturity blossomed forth?

In my understanding sexual maturity takes place along the years, from lifetime experiences. As times goes by one learns that sex goes beyond pleasure itself. Sex means pleasure, life, sentiment, balance, trade off, it's sharing moments that go beyond the matching of two bodies.

The youth in their eagerness-driven life, for experiencing the world, end up by starting their sexuality obeying desire solely. Sex is just for the sake of sex. Given that most current relationships are discardable, there is certain fluidity for partner-dumping, and the youngster winds up by living up sex as a string of commotions whose success or failure would do anything but further annoyance. Only by then some decide to seek adequate information as to how prevent some undesired pregnancy or any given sexually infected disease.

As time follows its flow and life demands bigger compromising and responsibility of each one, the young more matured by studies and professional stability, family, among others, learns to perceive well beyond the act itself. Sex aside desire, means dedication, it's experiences trade off, it's wearing condoms.

Those who learn and accept this change towards sexuality being self-proclaimed over fulfilled when the bottom line is sexual realization. Far from meaning that desire is lesser than it ever was; only just that sex starts encompassing other elements that surpass pleasure simply for the sake of it.

When referring to maturity there should be inferred that maturity of the human being leads him to developing certain responsibility and commitment with the one's own life, as well as in relation to peers. The same happens, in my understanding regarding sexuality.

Sexual maturity or mature sexuality takes place when people besides seeking the most diverse modes to fulfill their own desires, yet learn to consider the other's in this search. It concerns mostly with regard to consideration, feelings towards oneself and to the other.

I don't believe in magic potions so maturity-orientated, though the ingredients described above are fundamental and only met ends within constant apprentice.
